I LOVE fall for all it’s beauty, but also because of the season of gratitude that it brings.

While I truly believe in a daily gratitude practice, I love that we, as a whole, tend to focus more on gratitude at this time of year.

President Monson said, “Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love.”

This fun gratitude chain can help your family to recognize blessings that they’re grateful for!

Gratitude Chain Thanksgiving Activity

This gratitude chain activity is simple to put together and fun to do!

Here’s how to do it:

Print out the free printable pumpkin topper and cut it out.

Next, choose some paper and cut it into strips. I used a fall colored cardstock, but any paper you have on hand will do! Thicker paper holds the chain shape a little better than printer paper.

Attach a small strip of paper to the bottom of the pumpkin and then staple together one chain and attach it to the strip. This will act as a base for you to add your chains to.

Have family members write what they’re grateful for on the strips and then add them to the chain.

You can start this activity now and keep it going throughout the month, or you can do it in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. You could even do it all on Thanksgiving day.

It’s fun to see how long your chain can grow! As a family, set a goal of how long you hope it can be. This will keep everyone wanting to add their gratitude thoughts to it!

May your hearts be full of gratitude throughout this season.
