Thankful, Grateful & Blessed Mini Gift Notes
Can you believe the Thanksgiving season is just around the corner?! I’m so looking forward to the fresh baked pies, the homemade rolls and, most importantly – the family gatherings with the family spending time together. I love that the Thanksgiving season always encourages me to reflect on my blessings and think more about the people in my life who sprinkle it with joy. And while I love to pass along a little “thank you” any time of the year, the Thanksgiving season is such an extra special time to express thanks to those special people.
Like that special teacher who goes above and beyond what is required of her. The neighbor down the street who is always willing to step in and watch the kids at the last minute. That friend who just always knows when you need an uplifting text or a word of encouragement. Our lives are blessed with people all around us and often we send a quick text or an email as a thank you. But sometimes it’s nice to just give a little more to express our gratitude.
A Handwritten Thank You
There is something about a handwritten card that adds an extra special touch to your words. Handwritten words are simply more meaningful. Add in a cute little card and you have something tangible that shows your thanks. It will be more acknowledged than a text that gets immediately deleted with the swipe of a finger.
And – did you know that the actual act of writing out a thank you is beneficial to YOU, as well? As you take the time and effort to write out your thanks, you will feel more gratitude than what comes from typing out a quick text. In addition to lifting the recipient’s day, you’ll be adding drops of joy to yours as well. And we can all use a little more joy in our days.
These cards are adorable just as they are and can work all on their own. Simply write a heart-felt note and stick it in a special place to be found, or hand deliver with a smile and a hug. They are also super cute added to a little gift. Tie one to a loaf of bread or a vase full of fresh flowers. Or you could attach one to a gift bag or present. Here’s some fun ideas of ways to use these cute little cards this fall.
Attach one to a fresh baked loaf of bread (pumpkin, banana, or zucchini bread are all seasonal favorites!)
Grab a fall bouquet at the local florist shop and tie a card on.
Fill a lunch sack or other cute bag, a basket or box with any of the following and attach the thank you note with some twine or a bow.
- Fresh baked cookies (If you’re short on time, cookies from the local bakery are just as welcomed as homemade!)
- Pumpkin, zucchini, or banana muffins
- Apples and oranges or any in season fruit
- Pumpkins (because, Fall)
- Nuts or other goodies
- Pens, sharpies, Expo markers, or sticky notes (perfect for that hard working teacher)
- Bath bombs or soaps and a loofah, or pumpkin spice lotion and a face mask for someone who needs a break
- A pumpkin spice or other favorite scented candle
- Apple cider packets and cinnamon sticks
- Hot chocolate and marshmallows
Really, the ideas are endless! Think of something that special someone will love, then write out a note and attach it! I love to add in some cute ribbon or bakers twine for a fun touch.
It takes just moments to write out a little note and add some joy to someone else’s day, as well as your own. So print out these cards and spread around a little thanks – and joy this Thanksgiving season!
